Located in the Costambar section of Puerto Plata, an international, residential and tourist community, the Bed & Breakfast style inn resort, “Villas Olas Tropicales” (Tropical Waves, in English), is housed within two beautiful Spanish style villas.

The accommodations are well designed with spacious bedrooms that are equipped with queen sized beds, in some with an extra single bed. All constructed for full comfort and functionality, furnishings and woodwork are in mahogany. The recreation areas of the villas are equally well arranged, featuring large, airy and spacious living and dining room areas. The living room areas also feature satellite TV reception...you can still watch your favorite programs, news or sport specials.

Your breakfast can be served within your villa’s dining area, what is more popular amongst regulars, outdoors in one of the gazebos, at the pool side patio, in a garden setting or in our exotic tropical restaurant, located within the water garden area.

If you do not want to view your own particular interests on TV, we can furnish you daily with a printout of sports results, news, joke of the day etc., from the Internet, provided at your breakfast table.

Above is one of our guests enjoying her welcome drink in our water gardens. Note in the background the silver shrouded Montana Isabela, the reason that Columbus on January 9, 1493, named the location Puerto Plata (The Silver Port). The mountain can be shrouded in cloud even on the fairest days with no other cloud in sight for miles around.

Our restaurant, patio and cocktail bar facilities offer the very best of services with friendly, smiling, attentive staff. We can cater to large or small receptions, and can also arrange for wedding ceremonies, formal or informal, anniversary parties, special events, and arrange for any photographic requirements or musical entertainment.

Villas Olas Tropicales, are located in tranquil surroundings, only five minutes walk to the ocean and beautiful white sandy beaches. Across the road from “ Olas Tropicales “ is the “Los Mangos” golf course clubhouse, and only a par three away, is the first tee of the golf course. The golf course has a beautiful setting and is surrounded by mature, 150-year-old mango trees, free for the picking, two crops a year. Eat one while you play.

The gardens and grounds of the “Villas” hold many attractions to lovers of nature and natural beauty. A myriad of colors welcome you, with numerous species of colorful butterflies and birds, including such intriguing entertainers as mockingbirds, hummingbirds and finches . Imagine yourself in all this colorful activity within a scenic background of tropical flora, trees, palms and cactus. Nature has created for us a truly fine artist's palette.

The vegetation includes such delights as, shades of hibiscus, rhododendron, bougainvilla, oleander and mantequilla, orchids and traditional familiar annuals that bloom here throughout the year. Trees include, lemon , avocado, papaya, cashew, mango, guanabana, tamarind, orange and tangelo, there are passion fruit vines, and palms including, Royal, African, banana, plantain, cocao and coconut. We are always adding something new.

Be sure to try our own delicious Dominican rum drink, “COCO LOCO”, made fresh from the palms coconut water. The coconut water, drunk by itself, is very nourishing drink, with many claims about its powers, from the local inhabitants.
