Backcountry Odysseys hunting consultants specialize in placing hunters with quality outfitters in the Northwest, Rocky Mountains and Canada for the serious hunters worldwide looking for second-to-none hunting opportunities.

Although we have many hunting opportunities, our premier hunts as seen here offer guaranteed 100% shooting opportunities. All of our hunts offered are 1st class, and provide all necessary items to provide the finest hunts available. Two-on-one, drop camps and semi-guided hunts are available in some areas. We limit our hunts to two-four hunters per camp to ensure trophy game.

Antelope Hunts:
Our Antelope Hunts are held in Montana and New Mexico on private ranches that offer some of the finest Antelope hunting in North America. You can expect 14"-16" class Antelope. All the hunts require you to draw a tag or utilize a landowner permit if available, you'll need to book well in advance with applications submitted no later than early April or mid-June.

Spring Bear:
Although we have several other spring bear hunts available in the states, our premier spring bear hunts take place in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. You can expect 200-450 pound bears in all color phases, with an average of 20" skulls. The bears are abundant and make an excellent trophy. Most hunting takes place in early May through June, and offers exhilarating hunting for the avid archery or rifle hunter.

Bighorn Sheep:
The East Kootenay region has long been recognized as a world class producer of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep. The average age of the rams harvested is the highest in the region at 9.75 years, ensuring that any ram harvested will be an exceptional trophy. The quality of sheep and being limited to only two permits per year have ensured we remain booked at least two years in advance. Call us well in advance to get your name on the list. When it's your time, get ready for some serious outstanding hunting opportunities!

Caribou:
Our Caribou hunts are the best in North America. They take place in Quebec, British Columbia, Alaska and the Northwest Territories. We are proud to say that our Alaska hunts have made the top 5 SCI since 1974, and that our NWT hunts average over 30% making B & C record books. Herds can exceed 450,000 animals, and the hunting takes place directly in the path of migrations. If you are looking for some terrific Caribou hunting, look no further. Dall Sheep:
Our Dall Sheep hunts take place in the Northeast portion of the Yukon near the NWT border. Average age of the sheep are 9-1/2 years old, which ensures any ram you harvest will be a sensational trophy.

Elk:
Traditionally, elk will average a 50-70% success ratio with a few exceptions of elk hunts located on private ranches like these two hunts held in Montana and New Mexico, known for large branch antlered elk, and both hunts usually at 90-100% kill ratio. Both hunts are on private ranches fringing National Forest lands, directly in elk migration paths. You can expect large 5x5 and 6x6 elk. We have been averaging 6-12 320" P & Y elk per year on these hunts. If you are a serious elk hunter looking for 300+ bulls only, these two hunts are par-none. We also have several elk hunts on public land in Idaho & Colorado. Average success is about 60%, or for a special treat, try our elk/mountain goat hunt in southeast British Columbia.

Grizzly Bear:
The Grizzly Bear hunts take place in British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. You can expect 20-45 large grizzlies averaging 7-1/2' to 9' in length in all color phases on a single hunt. Due to limited quota permits, some of these hunts are booked up to two years in advance. Call us well in advance to get in on one of these premier hunting opportunities.

Moose:
The Moose hunts take place in Southeast British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the Yukon. Our B.C. hunts are the only Shiras Moose hunts in North America that do not require a special lottery authorization. You can expect 57"-60" spreads. Some hunts offer only two hunters per year to ensure trophy bulls.

Mountain Lion:
Our Mountain Lion hunts are held in British Columbia and New Mexico. The #4 in the world came from our are in B.C. You can expect 150-165 pound cats in 6-8' in length. Most hunting is done in cold weather, the season runs from December through March in most areas. These hunts are a lot of fun, challenging, and give you the opportunity to zip around on snowmobiles while chasing a very elusive cat!

Mountain Goat:
The goat population in this area located in Southeastern B.C. has the highest recorded density in North America - 4.3 goats per square kilometer. The average size is 9.3 inches, the average age is 7.5 years. This superb animal is best hunted in late October and early November when their full capes make them a more striking trophy. There is a limited number of permits, which requires you to book well in advance. Mt. Goat hunting requires physical stamina, not only should you come prepared, but also expect to see some stunning scenery and one of the most beautiful species of the North American Big Game. This hunt can be combined with elk in Southeast B.C. We average about 80% on large 5x5 and 6x6 bulls.

Mule Deer:
Our trophy Mule Deer hunts are held in Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Nevada, and Alberta, Canada. These are all private ranch hunts where you can expect to see on average 20-30 deer a day in the 25-33" class averaging 180+ B & C. If you're looking for a mule deer combo, we have some excellent ones in Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Montana and Wyoming.

Whitetail Deer:
The Whitetail hunts take place on private ranches in the Peace River area of Northern Alberta, and an exclusive Indian Reservation in Southern Alberta. You can expect 30-33" spreads averaging 160+ B & C located in some "Real Honey Holes". If you have ever wanted to hunt on a reservation, this is one of the best!
