Ranchester is not big in size, but very big in heart!

A small town with a thriving community is halfway between the Black Hills of South Dakota and the east entrance of Yellowstone Park. Ranchester lies just eight miles from the
Big Horn Mountains.

Located along the beautiful Tongue River, which runs through town, Ranchester is home to an 8' 11" tall, 3,500 pound grizzly bear statue. The sculpture depicts the bear with one foot in a trap that is anchored to a stump. Seen pulling away from his confinement, the chain has one broken link. The piece, entitled "Betrayed" shows his anger & frustration at being trapped and betrayed by man. This piece of artwork should be seen by all who visit the town.

Stop and take that photo opportunity!

Close by, you can camp, hunt, fish, hike, hang glide, snow ski or snowmachine. The area hosts wildlife such as deer, moose, elk, bear, blue grouse and wild turkey.
It's easy to find numerous rock formations, lakes, streams, or wildflowers blooming well into August. For a quiet, peaceful and relaxing time, Ranchester is the place stay.

Let your children play in the stimulating environment of our Creative Playground. As well as allowing them to burn off some of that stored up energy from the long ride!
